Biography

Prof. Dr. Turgut Karaca was born in Hatay in 1977. After completing his primary, secondary, and high school education in Hatay, he received his medical degree from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine between 1995 and 2001. He completed his residency in General Surgery at the 4th Surgical Clinic of Ankara Numune Training and Research Hospital from 2002 to 2006. He performed his military service at Balıkesir Military Hospital between 2006 and 2007, during which he also worked part-time at Private Bursa Acıbadem Hospital. After starting his compulsory service at Mardin State Hospital in 2007, he was appointed to the 4th Surgical Clinic of Ankara Numune Training and Research Hospital in 2008. Following his tenure at Ankara Occupational Diseases Hospital (2009–2012), he was appointed to Iskenderun State Hospital in November 2012. He played an active role in establishing the Burn Treatment Unit in 2013 and the Wound Care Unit in 2014 at Iskenderun State Hospital. In April 2016, he was awarded the title of Associate Professor of General Surgery. He served at Private Palmiye Hospital from 2016 to 2018 and at Iskenderun Gelişim Hospital from 2018 to 2020. Since 2020, he has been operating his private clinic in Iskenderun, where he performs surgical and endoscopic procedures at his contracted institutions, Adana Medline Hospital and Reyhanlı MMT American Hospital. In 2025, he was honored with the title of Professor.
